What Otter does better
- It comes to your meetings. Otter joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet. Quantlys Meeting asks people to meet in its own room.
- Apps and in-person. Otter has iOS and Android apps and bot-free desktop recording. Quantlys Meeting runs only in a browser.
- Integrations. Otter syncs to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Jira, Notion and more. Quantlys Meeting exports the PRD to GitHub, Linear, Jira and Notion, but doesn't sync to a CRM or Slack.
- Enterprise. Otter lists SSO, SCIM and a HIPAA add-on on its pricing page. Quantlys Meeting has none of these.
What Quantlys Meeting does differently
- The output is a PRD. Problem, users, scope, decisions and open questions, written from what the meetings actually settled. See the example PRD and notes vs PRD.
- Questions that close gaps. The host can turn on an agent that asks one follow-up question in a pause, only about spec sections still missing, with a cap per meeting.
- Many meetings, one spec. Every recorded session on a project feeds the same PRD, and the later meeting wins when two disagree.
- Open source. MIT, on GitHub. Run it on your own keys.
Side by side
How I compared. Quantlys Meeting rows come from the public source code and README (v1.1.3). Otter rows were checked on each vendor's own website or help center on Oct 19, 2026 (as of Oct 2026); every cell links to the page it came from. ✗ means the vendor's own page says it isn't offered. “Not listed on their site” means I couldn't find it on their official pages, not that it doesn't exist. Plans and features change, so check the vendor before you decide.

When to pick which
Pick Otter if you want notes from every call you already have, on every device, synced to your CRM. Pick Quantlys Meeting for the few sessions a week where the team decides what to build, and you want the spec out of the room. Using both works fine.
Getting the PRD into your tools
The PRD panel has an Export menu with these options, no setup needed:
- Copy as Markdown or Download .md.
- New GitHub issue: a prefilled create-issue link for the repo you type (owner/repo).
- New Linear issue: a prefilled create-issue link.
- Jira and Notion: copies the markdown and opens Jira's create dialog on your atlassian.net site, or a new Notion page, so you can paste it.
A PRD too long for a link is cut at a line, with a link back to the full PRD. You can still paste the markdown into Quantlys Conclave by hand.
Direct push. You can also push the PRD straight into GitHub Issues, Linear, Jira or Notion. You connect your own token for each tool; it's stored encrypted and only its last 4 characters are shown again. You see a preview of exactly what will be created before anything is sent.
- GitHub Issues: one PRD issue plus one issue per user story, with acceptance criteria as a checklist. Stories are linked as sub-issues where the repo supports it.
- Linear: one PRD issue with a sub-issue per user story, criteria as a checklist.
- Jira Cloud: the PRD as an Epic with each user story as a Story under it (unlinked Stories if the project has no Epic type).
- Notion: one page under a parent page you pick, with criteria as to-dos.
Re-pushing updates the items it made last time instead of duplicating them. In Notion it writes a fresh page and moves the old one to the trash. Self-hosting? Direct push needs an encryption key and a database migration; see docs/INTEGRATIONS.md.
FAQ
Is Quantlys Meeting a drop-in Otter replacement?
No. Otter joins the Zoom, Teams and Meet calls you already have and has mobile apps and CRM integrations. Quantlys Meeting is its own browser meeting room, built for spec and planning sessions that should end in a PRD.
What does Quantlys Meeting write instead of notes?
The recorded sessions on a project roll into one markdown PRD. When the room didn't settle something, the PRD marks it TBD instead of inventing it. You can export it to GitHub, Linear, Jira or Notion, or download the markdown.
Does Otter ask questions during the meeting?
Otter's site lists Live-Assist coaching and prompts during calls. Quantlys Meeting's live agent is narrower: it asks one question at a time about spec sections nobody has covered yet.
Can I self-host Quantlys Meeting?
Yes. It is MIT-licensed. You bring LiveKit, Deepgram, Supabase, S3-compatible storage and an OpenAI or OpenRouter key.
